Young Cultural Ambassadors Program

To mark the 15th anniversary of the annual Turkish Festival, The American Turkish Association of Washington DC (ATA-DC) is launching a very special program engaging DC Metropolitan Area youth with our month-long fun cultural activities! 15 high school students who are interested in building bridges and making an impact on their communities will be recognized as “Young Cultural Ambassadors”. Young Cultural Ambassadors will be engaged in various cultural experiences in September while learning a new culture and strengthening their communication and diplomacy skills. Scheduled for September 24, 2017, the 15th Turkish Festival will be a celebration of diversity and cultural understanding. The annual Turkish Festival is an award-winning signature ATA-DC event. In April 2016, the readers of the Washington City Paper voted the Turkish Festival as the “Best Cultural Festival” and “Best Festival of DC”. ATA-DC also organizes the Turkish Heritage Month comprising a wide range of cultural activities throughout the month of September since 2012.
