The brochure shows the site plan, stage program, food vendors and The Grand Bazaar where you can find more than 40 arts and crafts vendors. They will showcase Turkish jewelry and hand-woven textiles at the Turkish bazaar.

Turkish Festival will offer a day of free activities including folk dances, live music, authentic Turkish cuisine, fashion, arts & crafts for children. Selected as the “Best Festival” and “Best Cultural Festival” by Washington City Paper readers in the past 12 years, this premier event draws tens of thousands of Washingtonians to the streets to experience Türkiye’s key’s rich cultural history, its culinary delights, and a variety of live Turkish music and engaging folk dance performances. The festival goers will enjoy delicious Turkish food and traditional Turkish coffee, while browsing at the Turkish Bazaar, and watching mesmerizing stage performances. The premier cultural celebration will once again bring together numerous Turkish-style artists, local artisans, and authentic food vendors along with more than 20,000 attendees. A special 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic will also be highlighted at the festival in celebration of the big milestone.

Festival highlights include:

* Stage performances

As always, diverse live performances by local and visiting performers emphasizing Türkiye’s role as a cultural bridge will mesmerize the visitors. Hacettepe University Youth Folk Dance Group from Ankara will present breathtaking traditional and modern dances from across Türkiye. 

Famous Turkish musician, writer, and composer, Demir Demirkan, the writer of the lyrics of Everyway That I Can”, the winning song of the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest will perform with his band at the Festival, featuring his most famous Turkish rock songs. One of the best DJs of DMV area, DJ Seyhan will also be at the Turkish Festival. Other esteemed local performers include Kardelen Turkish Dance Ensemble, Nomad Dancers, Silk Road Dance Company, Gulder USA Kazakh Ensemble, Osman Arslan Folk Songs, Ocean Band, Red Microphone, Ahmet Kilic and Metin Bilgic Classical Turkish Music Group.

* Turkish Cuisine and Food

Turkish cuisine from local Washington DC Turkish restaurants: Kabobs, doner, traditional dishes, baklava, pastries, and authentic desserts will be available for purchase.

* Turkish Tea, Turkish Coffee & Fortune Reading

“Turkish Tea House” will host exhibitions as well as demonstrations of Turkish arts and culture such as paper marbling and other traditional art forms. Turkish coffee will be offered at the ever-popular “Turkish Coffee House”, and fortune-tellers will read fortunes from coffee grinds. 

* Cultural Exhibitions

Local artists from Cappadocia will host a handmade ceramic exhibition and perform Turkish arts and culture demonstrations.

* Arts & Crafts for Kids

Kids’ Tent will present Turkish culture with hands-on activities, offering children and their parents the opportunity to create unforgettable memories. 

* 100th Anniversary Exhibition

100 artwork of modern Türkiye’s founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, hand painted with coffee grounds by Hasan Kale, a micro art master, will be displayed at the festival in honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. Anatolia, The Land of Mysteries photo exhibit by Resul Celik will also feature photographs of the cultural, geographic, and historical treasures of Türkiye.
