The American Turkish Association of Washington D.C. (ATA-DC) is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Turkish Cultural Heritage Month taking place this September in Washington D.C . September will be filled with a variety of events showcasing Turkish culture, arts, cuisine, fashion, and connections with the American people. The Turkish Heritage Month is organized by ATA-DC in partnership with Turkish Airlines, Tysons Corner Center, Turkish Tourism Office, DC Shorts Film Festival, Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi and Williams-Sonoma, and has been officially proclaimed by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and DC Mayor Vincent Gray.
The Turkish Heritage Month has been also officially recognized by DC Mayor Vincent Gray and Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley.
This September, thousands will attend two festivals to savor and enjoy the rich Turkish culture. The Turkish Festival has become an always evolving and improving high point of Washington DC’s fall calendar. For the third year in a row, readers of the Washington City Paper named the 2013 Turkish Festival “Best Cultural Festival” in Washington D.C. Through 1st Turkish Heritage Weekend in partnership with Tysons Corner Center and Turkish Airlines, we will offer the best cultural festivals Washington, DC metro area has ever seen! Fashion shows and cultural exhibitions at Tysons Plaza will be all geared to take you on a magical tour of Istanbul!
The 12th Annual Turkish Festival scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2014. The event will take place from 11 AM to 7 PM on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 12th and 14th streets, only two blocks away from the White House in the heart of Washington D.C.
